DIY: Iced Coffee at Home

 I looooove iced coffee!
One of my friends shared with me the simple way to make Iced Coffee.
This can be done from the comfort of your own home and I am sharing it with all of you.

DIY: ICED COFFEE

You’ll Need:

Glass Jar of some sort (I used a 1L jar from TJ Maxx)

Coffee Grounds
Filter
Water
Refrigerator 😉

Step 1:

Measure out your coffee grounds and water. I’ve made this a few times so I know how strong I like my coffee.
1/2 cup coffee grounds = 4 cups water
If you try this amount and think it’s too strong add more water.
If you like your coffee really black add more coffee grounds. It’s all trial and error.

Step 2:

Refrigerate overnight.

Step 3:

The next morning strain out the coffee grounds. I have done this with many different filters.
Just make sure your filter has small holes so that the coffee grounds don’t go through.
I strain mine twice just to make sure that my coffee is smooth and fresh!

There you have it! Simple as that.
I then store my coffee in the refrigerator. I drink coffee like a fish so it doesn’t every stay in there longer than a week
but I read somewhere cold brewed coffee lasts a while in the fridge!
I  enjoy mine over ice and add cream.

Hope you enjoy!

  1. This looks like a great idea for people that are coffee freaks for the summer time. I believe that this would make your morning so much better in the summer when its 70 out and sunny with a cold cup of coffee. Now the question is: Is this coffee similar to the iced coffee you see at big coffee shops such as Dunkin Donuts and Caribou?
